Hello, I am Sam Dobrow and you have entered into my photographic world. This site is here to entertain you, to captivate your imagination, to stimulate your appreciation of photography and perhaps to entice you to call upon my creative services.

The camera is a wonderful device that allows the photographer to capture moments in time and freeze them for eternity. We live our lives traveling along the continuum of time. As a photographer, I see things a little differently. I anticipate things that will happen and I adjust my perspective view of unfolding events. I frame light in time and space the same way a painter colors with her brush or a sculptor molds his clay.

Whether I'm composing a photo story, photographing nature or making a portrait, it is my perspective and vision that gives the photograph its unique character. Once I am precisely positioned, I control the camera to craft an image that captures a unique moment in time.

But capturing the image is just the beginning of the creative process, digital processing is where my signature style is amplified. I use my digital darkroom to craft each image with the same intensity as the early masters who meticulously crafted their silver gelatin prints in the wet darkroom.
